Atelier 22
A showroom for a clothing label, built from three materials and left almost empty.

01
Three materials
Three materials, nothing else.
Pale terrazzo, solid oak and a single concrete counter. The room is a constant; the collection changes it each season by moving twelve oak blocks.
ITerrazzo

Poured in one piece across the whole floor, pale, with a fine aggregate of white and grey marble. No joints where a rail could catch.
IIOak

Twelve blocks of solid oak in four sizes 鈥?seats, plinths, tables. Heavy enough to stay put, light enough for two people to move.
IIIConcrete

One counter, cast in place, 3.6 metres long. The only thing in the room that never moves.
02
The room
A room that stays the same so the clothes can change.
The long window is screened with a fine steel mesh, so the street becomes a soft grey light. The bench beneath it runs the length of the wall; the steel rail hangs from the ceiling and touches nothing else.
140 m虏, one door, one counter, twelve blocks.
03 鈥?One room, four seasons
Twelve blocks, moved by hand.
I — Long table
One table down the middle of the room, for a weekend of pre-orders.
Plan 1:100 · the same twelve oak blocks each season
